1999 Aurora Award for Best Custom Home

The primary design challenge for this home was to reconcile the requirements of an intimate family home with those of a grand entertainment venue, while maintaining a homelike feel to such a large structure. The exterior is composed of slate roof tile, textured stucco, and cast stone to provide an ambiance of warmth and timelessness. A central "U" shaped corridor is the primary ordering element, and connects the left side of the home to the guest cottage via an open breezeway. The corridor offers a rich variety of events as one turns right from the entry past the living areas, pivoting at the central kitchen to the service areas.

In the most outboard corner location upstairs is the master suite flanked by secondary bedrooms, all with sweeping golf course and lake views. Beneath the master suite is the grand family room with full-pocketing corner windows which open the room to the screened porch -- a spectacular vantage point for the pristine water and conservation area.
